Writing for the models you choose
In Studio your words go to the model you chose as you wrote them — how to name your references, use Improve my prompt, Leave out and Seed, and get a price.
On a model's page in Studio, you write for that model directly: your words go to it as you wrote them, and nothing is added behind them. (Optic is different — ROUTIX reads your words and writes the model's instructions itself; see Writing Optic prompts.)
A shape that works
For a video: who or what, doing what, where, in what light — and how the camera moves. "A cyclist in a yellow rain jacket rides through a wet city street at dusk, neon reflections on the asphalt; the camera tracks alongside at handlebar height."
For a picture: the subject, the setting, the light, the framing — and any words on it, quoted exactly. "A ceramic coffee cup on a linen tablecloth, soft morning window light from the left, close-up, shallow depth of field."
Every video and picture model needs your words; only Forge, ROUTIX's own tool, can work from your pictures alone.
Naming your references
Type @ in the words box and pick one of your pictures, clips or recordings. Studio writes the tag in the way your model reads it:
- Models that read numbers get each reference by its number — Image 1, Image 2, Video 1… Say what each one gives the take: "Image 2 is the jacket".
- Models that cannot tell references apart by number read one of each kind — "the picture", "the clip", "the sound" — and the page says so. Describe in words what each one shows.
Each model's page says which way it reads, under Naming your references. In a mode that follows references, add at least one: "Add at least one picture or clip for … to follow."
Improve my prompt
Where it can help, Improve my prompt rewrites your words for the model you chose. It is free, nothing runs until you press Make, and Back to mine brings your own words back — "Improved. It's yours to edit — nothing runs until you press Make." It is not offered on Optic, Forge or the upscaler.
Advanced: Leave out and Seed
Under Advanced, where the model has them:
- Leave out — "What must not appear".
- Seed — Random or Fixed. "The same seed and words make a similar take — not always the same one." A model with no seed says so: "This model takes no seed: every take is new."
Sound
On a video model that can make its own sound, Sound is your switch — it starts off. Turn it on for a take with sound.
The price
The price is on the Make button before you press — "Make · … credits" — and beside each length, size or quality that changes it. When a choice is still missing, the reason sits beside the button instead: "Choose a length to see the price.", "Add a first frame to see the price." One press makes one take; if it is not delivered, its credits come back.
Examples
A model's Examples show takes with the exact words that made them. Use this prompt puts those words in your box — nothing runs until you press Make.
