Revise a video step by step
The whole Optic flow with the labels you see on screen — choose a clip, choose the seconds, describe, press Revise once, download.
This is the whole flow, with the words you see on the page. Open Studio and press Revise a clip.
Steps
- Bring your clip. Press Choose a clip to open your Gallery and pick a video, or press Upload there to add one from your device. On a computer you can also drop or paste a video anywhere on the page; on a phone the Gallery can Take a video with your camera. While it uploads, the page says "Your clip is on its way."
- Choose the stretch. Under Your clip, drag the window — or its Start and End handles — to the seconds you want revised, right up to the clip's last moment if you like. Optic revises up to 60 seconds of a clip; a longer clip is fine, you choose which seconds. The footer shows how many seconds you chose. With the keyboard, the arrow keys move a handle; hold Shift to move it further.
- Press Confirm. The line beside it changes to "Range confirmed." Moving the window later asks you to confirm again.
- Say what should change. Write in the words box. Add pictures with Add if you want to show what something should become — everything a picture shows of the subject comes into your video, so pick one that shows it exactly as you want it — and type
@to point at one of them. Mark a subject with Focus and type#to point at it by its name. See Writing Optic prompts. - Choose the quality. The Quality chip offers 720p or 1080p; it starts on 720p.
- Check the price. The button shows Revise · … credits as soon as your clip is in. The price depends only on the seconds you chose and the quality — your words and pictures never change it.
- Press Revise. This one press is the payment: the price on the button is what is held from your balance, and the work starts at once — there is no second press. While your film is made, the range control leaves the page.
- Wait for your film. The panel Your film says what is happening — "Reading your clip.", "Preparing what the change needs.", "Making your film.", "Finishing your film." — with how long it has been working and about how long is left. Until the making starts, you can press Stop.
- Download it. When it says "Your film is ready.", press Download. Switch between Before and After to compare.
If the film cannot be made, every credit held for it comes back to your balance, and the panel says why. See When a revision does not work out.
After it is ready
- Revise again · … credits makes the same stretch with the same words again, at the price on the button — one press, like the first.
- Share puts the film on your public page — see Sharing your work.
- Your films, under the clip, keeps the films you made from it; All history opens History.
Frequently asked questions
When are credits taken?
When you press Revise. The price on the button is held then — the same price you saw — and it is kept only when your film is delivered. If the film is not delivered, every credit comes back on its own.
Why did the range control disappear?
Once you press Revise, the page shows only your film's progress and Stop. The range control comes back when a run is stopped or turned down, ready for your next revision.
Can I close the page while my film is being made?
Yes. Everything after the press — reading your clip and making your film — happens on ROUTIX's side. Your film keeps being made and is waiting in Studio and in History when you come back.
