The chat, piece by piece

Everything on the chat page — the sidebar, the conversation, what ROUTIX holds in mind, the composer and its switches — and the page on a phone.

Updated 4 min read Copy page

The chat is where one agent does the whole work with you. It is one page: your chats on the left, the conversation in the middle, and — on a wide screen — Routix Mind on the right when you open it.

The sidebar

New chat, Search, Studio and Chats, then your most recent chats (a spinner beside one that is working; View all chats → for the rest), and at the bottom Credits, Settings and your name, which opens your Profile. Fold the sidebar to icons and the chat remembers it.

The header

The Routix wordmark, and under it what this chat is working with — before a clip is in: "Upload a clip, add references, and describe the transformation". On the right: the Routix Mind button (on a wide screen), your credit balance — it says Low when it runs low, and opens the Credits page — and your picture's menu.

The conversation

  • Your messages, with your pictures, clips and sounds — each playable where it sits.
  • ROUTIX's answers. While it works, a live line under the last message says what it is doing; when something lands, that line folds into Thought for …, which you can open any time — even after a reload.
  • What I'm holding in mind — after ROUTIX reads your footage: the subjects it found and the facts it holds, as "… subjects · … facts held". Rename a subject with its pencil, and that is the name ROUTIX uses.
  • Cards for the work itself: the plan, pictures on the desk for your review, the video being made, and the finished video — see Making video in the chat.
  • Your material — when a stage's pictures are all settled, folder cards (Subjects, References…) appear at the end; each opens in Routix Mind's Library.

The composer

  • The box — "Describe the scene, style, or transformation...". Enter sends; Shift+Enter starts a new line.
  • + and the picture button bring your files — see Bring your files.
  • BLIND | BLINK — the chat's two controls. Blind: ROUTIX does the work on its own, handed to its blind mind. Blink: it stops at each step and checks it with you. See Blind and Blink.
  • The eye button — it reads ROUTIX decides until you choose — opens How I'll make this: which model moves, which one paints, how long ROUTIX thinks, how closely it looks, how strictly Fovea judges. See How I'll make this.
  • Send, which becomes Stop for as long as ROUTIX is working.
  • Above the box, a small Now card of Routix Mind — press it to open the Mind.

The switches wait while ROUTIX is working; change them before your next message.

Routix commands

Press Ctrl+K (on a Mac, ⌘K) for Routix commands: New chat, Studio, Open library, Write a direction, Add source video, Add reference image, Toggle Routix Mind and Reuse last direction.

Coming back to a chat

Open it from the sidebar or the Chats page: its recent messages, pictures, thinking rows and readings come back where they were. Your choices for that chat — Blind or Blink, how closely ROUTIX looks, how long it thinks, your picks and Fovea's strictness — are remembered too.

On a phone

The sidebar is behind the menu button at the top left. Routix Mind opens as a sheet from the bottom. Everything else is the same page.

Frequently asked questions

Where are the pictures ROUTIX made in this chat?

In Routix Mind → Library, and on the Chats page under the chat's card (Browse all files).

Can I edit or delete a message?

No. Say what should be different in your next message — ROUTIX reads the whole conversation.
