How credits work
What credits pay for, when they are taken, what happens when a run fails, where to see your balance, and when credits end.
"Credits pay for what ROUTIX makes for you — pictures, videos and revisions, in Studio and in the chat."
The price, before you confirm
You always see the exact price before anything is taken: on the button you press — Revise in Optic, Make on a model page — and on each choice in a settings chip. Prices are set per tool and can change over time, so this Help Center never quotes a number — the page in front of you always has the current one.
- Optic: you pay for the seconds you select and the quality you choose. Your words and pictures never change the price. Revise is the one press: the price on its button is what is held, and the reading of your clip and the making of your film are inside it.
- Model pages: the price depends on the model and its settings — length, size, quality, sound.
- Chats: each message has a price, shown on the Credits page under In the chat.
When credits are taken
- When you press — Revise, Make, Battle, Generate — the price is held from your balance.
- When your result is delivered, the held credits are spent.
- When it is not delivered — it failed, was refused, or you stopped it before work started — every held credit comes back automatically.
If something stops part-way, the page tells you exactly what was charged and what was returned. If the price changed since you saw it, nothing is taken and you are asked to confirm the new price.
When your balance is too low
Nothing starts, and the page says how many credits you need: "This needs … credits — you have … credits, … credits short." Press Add credits to go to the Credits page.
Where to see your credits
- In Studio's header and on the home page — press it to open Credits.
- On the Credits page: your balance, your plan and its end date, which credits end when, and Your purchases.
- In your profile menu: Credits and Add credits.
When credits end
- Plan credits last for the plan's period of 30 days and end with it — unless the plan card says "Unused credits stay with you".
- Add-on credits are usable for 365 days after you buy them.
- Starting credits and template rewards do not end.
When you spend, the credits that end soonest are used first. The Credits page shows how many of yours end on which date.
Frequently asked questions
Do credits have a cash value?
No. Credits are for making things in ROUTIX; they cannot be exchanged for money.
Can I get my money back for credits I bought?
No. Purchases are final. Credits you buy are never refunded — they are for use inside ROUTIX — and a payment in cryptocurrency is never refunded. A payment becomes credits in your balance as soon as it is confirmed: ROUTIX keeps no money for you, only your credits. Credits that come back when something is not made are different: they return to your balance as credits, to use again.
When does Optic take my credits?
When you press Revise. That one press is the payment: the price on the button is held, and it is kept only when your film is delivered. If the film cannot be made, every credit comes back on its own, and the page says why.
A take failed. Do I need to ask for my credits back?
No. They come back on their own, and the take shows how many were returned.
