# Reading your clip takes a few minutes

> Why "Reading your clip." can take a few minutes on a long stretch, why you do not need to wait on the page, and how to make it quicker.

After you press **Revise**, the panel **Your film** first says *"Reading your clip."* Optic reads the whole stretch you chose — every second of it, with your words, pictures and focuses — before it makes anything. On a short stretch that is quick. On a long stretch, or with many changes, it can take a few minutes.

## While it reads

- You do not need to keep the page open. The reading and the making happen on ROUTIX's side; close the page, and your film is waiting in Studio and in History when you come back.
- The price does not move while it reads: what was held when you pressed **Revise** is the price.
- Until the making starts, **Stop** is beside the progress if you change your mind.

## Make it quicker

- Choose only the seconds you need. A shorter stretch reads faster and costs less to make.
- Ask for the changes you need — fewer, clearer changes read faster.

## If the page says "Studio could not be reached"

The page lost its answer for a moment; your film is not affected by it. See ["Studio could not be reached"](https://routix.studio/help/troubleshooting/studio-could-not-be-reached).
