# Making pictures and videos

> How a model page works — choose a model, write what you want, add your pictures, set length, size and shape, see the price and press Make.

Studio's **Videos** and **Pictures** make something new from your words — and from your pictures and clips when you add them. Each model has its own page. Models differ in what they are good at, how long a video can be, and the sizes and shapes they offer; each page shows its own limits — and each has its page in the Help Center too: [Every model in ROUTIX](https://routix.studio/help/models/every-model).

## Make a take

1. On Studio's home, open **Videos** or **Pictures** and choose a model. To switch later, press the model's name at the top of its page — **Choose a model** lists them all.
2. If the model has more than one way of working, choose it in the tabs at the top:
   - **Make** — from your words (and pictures, where the model takes them);
   - **Animate** — bring a picture to life: add a **First frame** and, if you like, a **Last frame**;
   - **Reference** — make a video guided by your pictures or clips;
   - **Edit** — change a clip you bring.
3. Write in the words box what you want to see — the subject, the place, the light, what happens and how the camera moves.
4. Add pictures, a clip or a recording with **Add** — they come from your [Gallery](https://routix.studio/help/studio/gallery). Type `@` in the words box to point at one, for example `@Image 2`.
5. Set the chips the model offers: **Length**, **Quality** or **Size**, **Shape**, **Sound**, **Kind**. Each choice in a chip shows its price.
6. Check the price on the button — **Make · … credits** — and press **Make**.

Each press makes one take. It appears above the words box with how long it has been working; press **Stop** if you change your mind.

## Improve my prompt

On most models, **Improve my prompt** rewrites your words into a fuller description: *"Improved. It's yours to edit — nothing runs until you press Make."* Press **Back to mine** to return to your own words. Improving is free.

## Advanced

Under **Advanced**, where a model offers them:

- **Leave out** — *"What must not appear."*
- **Seed** — **Random** or **Fixed**. *"The same seed and words make a similar take — not always the same one."*

## When a take is ready

- **Download** (on a phone, **Save to Photos**).
- **Make again · … credits** — the same words and settings, a new take.
- **Use as a reference**, or **Use in** another model.
- **Bring to life** — for a picture: a video that starts from it.
- **Open in the chat** — continue in a conversation.
- **⋯** → **Use this prompt**, and **Details** — the words, what it was made with, the price.

**Your takes**, on the page, shows this model's latest; **All history** opens [History](https://routix.studio/help/studio/history).

## Examples

**Examples** at the top of a model page shows what the model can do. **Use this prompt** puts an example's words in your box — *"nothing runs until you press Make."*

## Frequently asked questions

### Why can't I see the price yet?

The page tells you what it needs first — for example *"Choose a length to see the price."* or *"Add a first frame to see the price."*

### A model I used before is gone — why?

Studio's models change over time. If a model is not offered now, its page says *"This model is not in Studio now."* — choose another one in **Choose a model**. Your takes stay in History.

### What happens if a take fails?

You see *"This take could not be made."*, the reason, and the credits returned — every credit comes back. Press **Try again** or change your words. See [When a run fails](https://routix.studio/help/troubleshooting/a-run-failed).
