# When a revision does not work out

> What happens to your credits when a revision fails, is refused or is stopped — and what you can do next.

**Revise** is the payment: when you press it, the price on its button is held, and the reading of your clip and the making of your film follow inside that run. A film is delivered whole, or it is not delivered — and **when it is not delivered, every credit held for it comes back to your balance automatically**, and the panel says why. You do not need to ask.

## If the film could not be made

The panel says *"The film could not be made, so nothing was charged."* and, where it can, why. Your words and pictures are kept on the page, so you can change what needs changing and press **Revise** again.

## If your change was refused

The panel says *"This change could not be made, so nothing was charged."* Press **Change the words**, say it differently, and press **Revise**. A change can be refused for safety or privacy — for example when what you sent shows a child or a real, well-known person — when it goes against the [Content Policy](https://routix.studio/help/policies/content-policy), or when it is not something Optic can revise.

If several of your requests are stopped by safety checks within a short time, Studio pauses for you for a while: *"Studio is paused for you for a while. Nothing was charged."* It opens again on its own.

## If part of your clip could not be made

Sometimes one moment of a stretch cannot be made while the rest can. Then Optic makes the rest and **waits for your choice** — *"The rest of your film is made and waits for your choice — with it as it was, or without it."* You see that moment, its seconds and the reason, and you choose:

- **Make it with this part as it was** — the moment keeps your original picture;
- **Make it without this part** — the moment is cut out, its sound with it;
- **Stop**.

Nothing happens until you choose, and the price shown covers only what was made.

## If your clip could not be read

*"This clip could not be read, so nothing was made and nothing was charged."* Choose another range, or upload the video again — exporting it again as MP4 often helps.

If the seconds you chose could not be cut from your clip, the panel says *"The chosen seconds could not be cut from this clip, so nothing was made and nothing was spent. Choose them again, or upload the clip again."* A stretch that runs right to the end of your clip is fine — it ends on your clip's last frame.

## If you press Stop

- While your film waits its turn or before any work has started, it stops and your credits come back.
- Once work has started, the page tells you exactly what was charged and what was returned.

## If the price changed

Prices can change. If the price changed between the moment you saw it and your press, nothing is held and the page shows the new price before anything starts: *"The price changed — it is now … credits. Confirm the new price to go on; nothing was charged."*
