# The ROUTIX agent

> One intelligent agent instead of many AI tools — it takes any creative input in plain conversation and runs the whole work, start to finish.

The chat is not a form with a model behind it. It is an agent — one agent for the whole work, working like an intelligent creative director. You talk to it the way you would talk to a person: give it your idea, a clip, pictures, a sound, a reference — any creative input — and it manages everything from there: understanding what you mean, reading what you brought, designing how to make it, making it, and checking the result against what you asked.

That replaces the usual tangle of separate AI tools with a single conversation. Behind the agent stands ROUTIX's own engine — more than 512 in-house tools, each built for one purpose — and the agent chooses among them for what you ask, step by step. Behind every decision it makes is [ROUTIX Blind](https://routix.studio/help/why-routix/routix-blind), and beside it, checking every picture it makes, is [Fovea](https://routix.studio/help/chat/fovea).

## Three ways it answers

- **Talking.** You ask a question, give feedback or say hello: it answers the one thing you asked. Send a picture and it tells you what it sees — it does not ask you to describe it.
- **Listening.** You describe what you want, hand over pictures, change your mind: it takes it all in and builds the plan with you. Nothing is made yet.
- **Building** — only when you say **Routix it**. Then it makes what you have agreed, step by step, until every piece is done.

Because nothing is built before **Routix it**, you can think out loud, try ideas and take them back. Words like "make it" or "go" are part of your idea, not the start.

## What it can do

**Look.** Answer any question about a picture or a frame; compare two pictures; see all of a chat's pictures at once; read the words in a frame; measure colours; read a look — its colour, light, lens and mood; read a shot in depth, layer by layer; read a pose and how a shot moves.

**Understand your references.** Work out what each picture you bring is for; check that a picture is usable before anything is spent on it, and tell you what to bring instead if it is not; choose among many.

**Plan before it spends.** Agree what changes and what stays; decide which of your pictures feeds which part; write the instructions for each step and test them before anything is made.

**Make.** A clean reference sheet of your subject from your pictures — or from words alone; still frames, and variations of a frame; a sketched storyboard when the way a video moves changes; and the video itself, last. It can also cut a subject out, crop a region, or lay pictures out in a grid.

**Change the story.** Not only how things look, but what happens: in the moments you pick, say what happens now — *"no soda — an eagle lands on his head and eats seeds"* — and the moments are made anew around it, with everything you did not name taken from your clip. See [Change the story](https://routix.studio/help/chat/making-video-in-the-chat#change-the-story).

**Check and repair.** Hold a result against your original — what changed, what stayed, what drifted; check that a character is still the same person from shot to shot; check that nothing new and unwanted crept in that was not in your original; find out why a take failed and fix exactly that.

**Talk with you.** Ask one question when it truly needs an answer; show you work in progress; explain why it chose what it chose — in your language.

**Remember.** Keep what it learns about your project, so you never repeat yourself — see [Routix Mind](https://routix.studio/help/chat/routix-mind).

## How it works with you

These are the agent's own rules; you will notice them.

- **What you did not mention stays as your source.** A new jacket does not bring a new face, a new room or new light.
- **You can change your mind at any time.** Stopped work waits for you; it is not thrown away.
- **What the chat already holds is reused, never made twice** — and never paid for twice.
- **Every refusal comes with the way forward.** It tells you what to change, not only that it cannot.
- **Before it starts paid work, it says in a line or two what it will make.**
- **One question at a time.**
- **It looks at a result before it tells you it is done.**
- **A retry must change something.** After two that do not work, it stops and tells you why, rather than spending more.
- **One question about sound before a video:** hand over a sound file, describe it, ask for silence, or keep the feel of your source.
- **It answers in your language.**

## One way of understanding, for everything

The agent reasons about *this* footage and *this* request — never a preset pipeline, never a template for one kind of video and another for the next. Before any decision it asks whether the decision would hold for anything at all: a person, a fish, a logo, a screen recording. The ROUTIX team rethought how video AI should work from that one idea: one way of understanding, for every genre, style and subject. What may be made is the same for everyone: our [Content Policy](https://routix.studio/help/policies/content-policy).

## You stay in charge

- **Blind or Blink** — hand the work to ROUTIX's blind mind to do on its own, or have it stop at each step and check it with you. See [Blind and Blink](https://routix.studio/help/chat/blind-and-blink).
- **How I'll make this** — choose the models, how long it thinks, how closely it looks and how strictly Fovea judges. See [How I'll make this](https://routix.studio/help/chat/how-ill-make-this).
- **Stop** — the send button becomes **Stop** while it works. What had not started yet is cancelled and not charged; a take already being made still arrives, and is charged only if it passes ROUTIX's check.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need to know how to write prompts?

No. Say it the way you would say it to a person — *"just change the character to this woman"* — and add pictures to show what you mean. The agent writes the instructions for every step itself.

### Can it make something from nothing but words?

Yes. In a chat without a clip it builds a brief with you — asking one thing at a time, such as how long the piece should run — and when you say **Routix it**, it makes the take. If there is nothing visual to build from yet, it can make a reference sheet from your words first.
