# Optic in the chat

> The chat revises your chosen moments with Optic, ROUTIX's own revision model — the same Optic as Studio, one film, one progress, one price.

When you pick moments of your clip in the chat and ask for a change that keeps your story — a new face, a new jacket, a new place, a new look — the chat revises them with **Optic**, ROUTIX's own revision model. It is the same Optic you use in Studio, with the same care: it changes what you name, and keeps everything else as your clip shows it.

## How the chat decides

You never have to ask for Optic by name. When you say **Routix it**, ROUTIX reads your words:

- **your story stays** — the same moments, with your change → Optic;
- **what happens in the shot changes** → the moment is made anew as its own video — see [Change the story](https://routix.studio/help/chat/making-video-in-the-chat#change-the-story);
- **you ask for frames** → the frames are painted first.

If you want to choose yourself, **Optic** can be one of the choices under **How I move** in [How I'll make this](https://routix.studio/help/chat/how-ill-make-this).

## What you see

- One line as it starts — for example *"I'll re-make your moments as one video with your change, keeping the rest of your footage."* — ending with the size it is made at.
- One row while it is made, in words, never a percentage — whole or nothing: you get one film, never pieces of one.
- In **Blink**, one stop before the video is made, showing what the change will use: *"Here is what I prepared for your change."*
- While one revision of your moments is being made, a second one of the same moments is turned away until the first is done.

## The same Optic as Studio

One film, one progress, one price — the price of the seconds you chose, the same from the chat as from Studio. ROUTIX's own work on the way is inside that price. Your words can be up to 40,000 characters. Everything Optic does and keeps is in [What Optic does](https://routix.studio/help/optic/what-optic-does); it is built on [ROUTIX Blind](https://routix.studio/help/why-routix/routix-blind).

## Frequently asked questions

### Can I use Focus in the chat?

Focus — drawing the exact place on the frame — is on Optic's page in Studio. In the chat, say which one you mean in words: *"the man on the left in the grey coat"*.
